Tolerance compensation with optimized force distribution
WITOL tolerance compensation systems offer advantages in the fastening of large and tolerance affected components. The roof rails must be firmly connected to the roof structure of the car body at several screw points. By using WITOLs, the component is fastened tightly and without tension.
Fastening solutions from WITOL are used for laser-welded roofs as well as for roofs with a roof channel. The cavity between the roof cladding and the supporting structure is precisely compensated by WITOL so that the railing is fixed and load-bearing.
Two systems for roof rail mounting
The WITOLs are inserted at the joints of the roof cladding. During assembly, the screwing process activates the WITOL and automatically compensates for the tolerances between the inner roof structure and the outer roof cladding.
Unlike single-stage assembly, the compensation of tolerances is activated by a special tool. This results in a precise sleeve that is compatible with the bolt / nut system of the component. The railing is then conventionally screwed in place by means of a stud bolt or screw.
These WITOLs are used for roof rails
Only a very small installation space is required for the WITOL 350. This means that even a very flat roof rail can be implemented without any problems.
The WITOL 311 can also compensate tolerances in the Z-direction between two components and also enables angle compensation.
The WITOL 287 allows the installation of a narrow roof rail with a small roof cutout due to its space-saving design.
