Highly integrative fastening solution with low installation height
The highly integrative WITOL Surface is always used when the fastening level is indirectly in the area of the surface. This is made possible by the innovative relocation of the functional area to the interior of the component structure. The WITOL Surface is therefore located completely inside the vehicle structure and thus differs significantly from the other WITOLs.
Maximum process reliability and easy handling
The WITOL Surface proves to be extremely process-safe over the complete range of application and is characterized by easy handling. Depending on the application, it may be necessary to keep the joining forces of the WITOL as low as possible for ergonomic reasons. This also enables overhead and single-handed assembly in compliance with occupational safety and ergonomic regulations.
Two systems for mounting with WITOL Surface
One-step assembly
The WITOL Surface is inserted at the joints of the outer skin. During assembly, the screwing process activates the WITOL and automatically compensates for the tolerances between the vehicle structure and the outer skin. The result is a flush surface.
Two-step assembly
In the elements with a two-step assembly, the compensation of tolerances is first activated by a tool. This is similar to a precision sleeve that is compatible with the component’s bolt or nut system. Following this, the component can then be fixed conventionally using a stud or screw.

WITOL Surface is used for laser-welded roofs as well as for roofs with a roof duct. The cavity between the roof cladding and the supporting structure is precisely compensated by WITOL so that the railing is fixed and load-bearing.
Due to the limited installation space for sun roofs, it is an additional challenge to integrate tolerance compensation systems. WITOL Surface is specially optimized for this application and fits perfectly into the roof structure.
Exterior parts must be precisely fastened in order to be optimally placed in terms of aerodynamics and acoustics in addition to appearance. With WITOL Surface, tolerances can be reliably compensated and components perfectly positioned.
