Product Overview
Precise tolerance compensation – simplified assembly.
The design of WITOLs enables precise and tension-free tolerance compensation between two components. A WITOL consists of four elements:
- Base element
- Retaining ring
- Compensation element
- Spring element
The operating principle
Due to the rotation of the driven screw, tolerances are automatically and simultaneously compensated with the WITOL directly in the bolting process. In this way, a tension-free and reproducible bolted joint is produced in a process-safe manner.
Explained step by step: The WITOL Operating Principle
-
Pre-assembly WITOL
The WITOL is pre-assembled on one of the components to be joined. The type of fastening has no influence on the primary function and is derived from the corresponding application.
-
Positioning of components
In the subsequent assembly, the two modules to be screwed together are aligned with each other and brought into their target position. The screw is fed and inserted into the WITOL.
-
Activation of tolerance compensation
By rotating the screw, the WITOL is activated and automatically compensates the distances between the components.
-
WITOL tolerance compensation
As soon as the WITOL reaches the mating position, the compensation process is completed.
-
Tension-free connection
The screw is fixed with the desired tightening torque and the preload force is introduced into the system. The result is a pretensioned and at the same time tension-free screw connection.
